WILLIAM B. EVANS

"Although a life long summer resident of the Adirondacks, it's only been the past eight years I have spent extensive time in the back country of the eastern High Peak Region. This enduring contact has given me an emotional connection and respect for the solitude and beauty of the Forest Preserve. I have been able to turn out a body of work that has the continuity of all the four seasons.

Working primarily in gouache, (opaque watercolor) has allowed for the spontaneity of transparent watercolor as well as producing overlaying effects more associated with oil.

In the future, I plan to do larger paintings in oil as well as etchings of this same picturesque and intriguing part of the Adirondacks."

Bill was educated at Yale University, Munson-Willams-Proctor Institute and Ecole des Beaux Arts in France.
